“School Colors”

A freshman clowning around on the Blackburn College (IL) campus in his high school sweater as fall shadows lengthen over scattering oak leaves.     It was my high school classmates that I was think about when I wrote “School Colors” for our 50th reunion. I’d left my sweater on the Great Northern “Empire Builder” sometime in the late 1950s, traveling between Illinois and my home in Northwest Washington State. Verses 3 & 4 are posted on the “II.
